Summer Sky

As we drove home a couple of evenings ago I took a photo of these beautiful clouds overhead. This summer we have had many afternoons with clouds billowing into the sky which reminds me of summer days long ago in Georgia. For the last few summers here in central Texas we have not had such a lovely display of nature because we were in a severe drought.

These days I am thrilling over the beauty that I see skyward. In the evenings cattle egrets fly in formation overhead reflecting the sun on their pure white feathers. They are flying to Lake Bastrop for the night after venturing out into ranch lands during the day to spend time with the cattle & feast on bugs and mites that would otherwise annoy the cattle. It is a symbiotic relationship.

Hopefully, I'll soon be able to capture these wonderful birds flying in the late afternoon sky and dazzling me with their beauty. Then I shall share a photograph of them with you.

Thunderhead

On the way home Saturday evening there was a wonderful thunderhead off in the distance toward our town. We were so hopeful some rain would fall from it, but were sorely disappointed.
