Strolling Around Old Town Saint Augustine

One afternoon the G-man & I drove into
Saint Augustine to explore
the old section of town.

The original fort at Saint Augustine
which overlooks the bay.

It was busy with tourists
although not as many as in summer months.

This cute young lady at the coffee shop
had some interesting tattoos
and flecks of glitter on her skin.

Everything is very quaint and definitely
has the feel of a coastal town.

There were many souvenir-type shops here
but also quite a number of upscale shoe shops.
And of course there are restaurants
and bars every few feet.

An old mill turned into a shop.

Lovely little entry through a little arbor.

Outdoor accessories.

These ladies were quite fond of taking a little rest.
They would walk half a block, sit, & watch folks go by
and then mosey along the pathway
to another bench on which to rest.

Colorful buildings & lovely gardens.

I'm sure he is patiently waiting for his shopper friend or spouse.

Little shop with colorful wares.

A bit of Spanish architecture.

Sailboats in the bay.

The canal that runs in the residential area.

We enjoyed our walk, but
we did not find the
Fountain of Youth!
This is not my kind of town,
but it is interesting and historical.

Excellent! Love the entry way. The photo of the painting of Miles is really nice, too.

You give us such interesting ideas for exploring the country. The photo of the two ladies tells a thousand stories! Love it!

Hi Lizzy

it is always interesting to see what someone else sees on their walk..that idea intrigues me...we think we see the same thing but I'm not so sure...

thanks for a leisurely wander
Happy days

SUPER pictures! I really like the people shots, especially the coffee shop girl. People who work in coffee shops fascinate me with their body art and bizarre hairdos. Everyone there seems to be an artist and it shows in the way they present the coffee, with the swirl and intricate designs made with cream that float on top of the coffee.
