Today I share photos of the Anhinga, a water fowl. The link to Wikipedia has more information about this beautiful bird.
Stately Anhinga
Anhinga with wings spread to dry them.
The white wing feathers are visible from the rear of the Anhinga.
To the right are Anhinga in the Rookery and to the left Egrets.

We used to see ahningas on our river trips. And we have the white egrets (cowbirds) out here in the country. I've been seeing them in the front yard all week.

Ellen, I love to see the cattle egrets. Every evening I see them returning to their roosting area at Lake Bastrop after visiting cattle all day. The ones in these photos are Snowy Egrets and are mostly water fowl.
