Strolling Around Old Town Saint Augustine

One afternoon the G-man & I drove into
Saint Augustine to explore
the old section of town.

The original fort at Saint Augustine
which overlooks the bay.

It was busy with tourists
although not as many as in summer months.

This cute young lady at the coffee shop
had some interesting tattoos
and flecks of glitter on her skin.

Everything is very quaint and definitely
has the feel of a coastal town.

There were many souvenir-type shops here
but also quite a number of upscale shoe shops.
And of course there are restaurants
and bars every few feet.

An old mill turned into a shop.

Lovely little entry through a little arbor.

Outdoor accessories.

These ladies were quite fond of taking a little rest.
They would walk half a block, sit, & watch folks go by
and then mosey along the pathway
to another bench on which to rest.

Colorful buildings & lovely gardens.

I'm sure he is patiently waiting for his shopper friend or spouse.

Little shop with colorful wares.

A bit of Spanish architecture.

Sailboats in the bay.

The canal that runs in the residential area.

We enjoyed our walk, but
we did not find the
Fountain of Youth!
This is not my kind of town,
but it is interesting and historical.

Liam & Lizzy at the 2010 Willow Ball

A Night to Remember

at
Willow Ball

Liam arrived in his chauffeur driven 1957 Bentley S1. It is such a dream of an automobile. One would never refer to such beauty as just a car.

As you can tell Liam is totally entranced by the lovely Lizzy in her stunning Carolina Herrera gown, but is it the gown or the stunning beauty wearing it? Liam arrived with such an intent look about him which took away my breath. He looked so handsome in his black suit and tie... but the simplicity of his dress made the intensity in his eyes ever so more noticeable.

I was dressed in my lovely Carolina Herrera floral-jacquard ball gown and felt ever so feminine. The dress is a mulberry organza with multicolor floral fil coupe jacquard, strapless neckline with the wrapped, angularly pleated bodice fitted to high hip. The skirt is A-line & pleated and is made in the USA.

Liam is the very punctual sort and we had time for a cocktail before leaving for the ball. It seems we both like a dry gin martini ~ shaken not stirred, thank you very much.

Before leaving my home Liam played a few romantic tunes on my piano. This really set the stage for a lovely night of music, dancing, and laughter.

Oh yes, we so enjoy an evening of dancing under the stars.

It was lovely to be with all my friends some that I am met for the first time.

Thank you Willow for a lovely evening.
It is one that will be talked about for... at least a year.
See you next year.

PVFC ~ Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida

The G-man & I are just back from our trip to
Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida
and what a great time we had!
We enjoyed wonderful seafood southern style
with grits offered at every meal.

If you like interesting places to dine this is one of the best.
The Pine Valley Fish Camp is outstanding
in it's ambiance and menu.
It has the homey feel of a neighborhood restaurant.
The menu is interesting and the food delicious.

The G-man had a combination plate of
fish and shrimp lightly fried.
My choice was a bit different:
Lightly blackened Mahi Mahi,
Grits with Gravy,
Collard Greens,
and
a lovely glass of wine.

Heck, I'm really in the South so I've got to try the local delicacies.
After all I am a Southern girl and grew up on grits.

The setting sun giving the last rays on the intra-coastal canal.
It's a lovely place to sit and have a drink at the end of the day.

Egret at St. Augustine Beach

While my guy is golfing I plan to stroll the beaches.
I've got my sunscreen packed, my suit, camera, sunglasses & a book.
What a way to spend the days!

Dare I try this?
