On Friday & Saturday nights in Austin a group of us would go to
the Broken Spoke
an old dance hall on south Lamar.
We would stay until the last song
dancing the Two-Step, Cotton-eyed Joe, & the Shadish.
And of course drinking Shiner Bock beer or Lone Star beer.
All the best country musicians played there
and one of the best was
Gary P. Nunn.
