After a bit of rain last evening we have a beautiful morning at 68 degrees. The sun is shining through the pines and emphasizing the moisture in the woods. How thankful we are for the one and three/fourths inch we received. It was wonderful to have rain, brief though it was.

We've had three nice rainstorms in the city in the last week and a half (finally!) but none out at the country house. I guess we'll see what is drought tolerant.
hi lizzy - the sunburst through trees is one of the most beautiful images. last night i was on a long club bike ride and we had a true sunshower - no clouding over but pure sunshine with a mist of droplets suspended in the air. about thirty km south of us where i live, there was a deluge!!! i'm glad there was rain for you also. have a peaceful day. steven
The G-man checked the rain gauge a few minutes ago and we had 1 3/4 inches of rain last evening.

Steven, I imagine it was cooling to ride in the rain. You know when it rains with the sun shining the old adage is "the devil is beating his wife". Now how did that saying come to be?
Wonderful photo of the sun streaming through the trees. I'm afraid we in the midwest have been hogging most of the rain this summer. Glad we shared a bit with you!

We had a downpour, thunder and lightning and hail 3 days ago too. Haven't seen rain like that for a long while; it was fantastic. As you know, we've been in drought now for 13 years and water is scarce.

Hi Delwyn, thanks. Yes we were very refreshed this morning and tonight we have had another nice little shower. Seems a cell formed right over our area & gave us a good little wetting down!
Alaine, thanks for stopping by my blog. Yes, I know how much your area is suffering from the drought. It is so scary. I fear things truly are changing and not in a good way. We had a bit of rain again tonight and it was truly wonderful!
