The Turkeys Came Visiting

A couple of days ago my husband called for me. It seems a couple of wild gobblers had wandered into our backyard and were eating birdseed that other birds had kicked out of the bird feeders. I slowly opened the door and took the photograph below first. It sort of spooked the big guys (actually a male & a female) and they ran for the front.

I cut them off at the pass by going out the front door. I started making my version of a turkey gobble and it must have worked because they stopped and looked at me thus allowing me to get a pretty good shot of them standing together.

Later in the day I saw them scurrying down the road... unfortunately Gertie saw them too & made a bee line for them. No problem for the birds; they just flew into the trees across the road. Just another bit of wildlife in our area.
