Today Gerald, Gertie, & I took a ride into the Texas hill country. It was a gorgeous sunny day. The temperature was cool (in the 50s F). We went to Pedernales Falls State Park which is west of Austin and a bit east of Johnson City.
As you can see by the scenery it was lovely. We are in the midst of a drought here in central Texas and were surprised and delighted to see as much water in the river as there was. During rainy seasons the water rushes mightily through this gorge and getting near is extremely dangerous. But today is was perfect and has a tamer appearance as evidenced by hikers down in the bottom walking up and down the river bed. It was a great day!
